Bird Watching
The hours slip like feathered things
We hold them close but still they go
If time could open up its wings
Would we let it fly or hold on slow
The Early Bird Gets the Bird
First wings wake before the sun
They move where morning still is blurred
The ones who rise with hunger burn
Are fed by what they chase and learn
Catch of the Day
The water keeps what we cant name
It lifts and breaks then turns to song
We reach for what we think we claim
Then learn we only pass along
